Operation High Jump – Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd

Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd worked for the U.S. Navy and on the 31st December 1946, he began his command of Operation Highjump. He had led other Antartic Expeditions, and therefore Operation Highjump was his Fourth Antarctic Expedition. Rear Admiral Byrd wrote a book for the inital three Antarctic Expeditions.

Operation Highjump was an Antarctic Expedition

Operation Highjump, lasted from the 31st December 1946 to the 15th February 1947. The intention of Operation Highjump was to establish an Antarctic Research Station called Little America 4. A convoy for the Antarctic Expedition, the exploration was expected to last for 6 to 8 months.

Less than two months later the Antarctic Expedition was terminated abruptly on the 25th February 1947, around 6 months earlier than scheduled, and the entire contingent returned to the United States.

Were UFO’s involved in Operation Highjump ?

Since that time, many conspiracy theories have arisen from what actually happened during Operation Highjump, because when Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd returned to Washington DC, he mentioned “warned” about “the necessity for the United States to adopt protective measures against the possibility of an invasion of the country” by “hostile aircraft” proceeding from the North Polar Region and South Polar Region.
